WORKMEN’S
COMPENSATION INSURANCE
Workers’ compensation insurance ensures protection for your employees in case they become ill, suffer from an occupational disease, sustain injuries from a work-related incident, or tragically lose their lives while on the job. This coverage is crucial as per UAE Federal law, which requires all employers to compensate their employees if they are injured or die due to work-related causes.
WHAT DOES WORKMEN’S COMPENSATION INSURANCE COVER?
Work-related death:
Pays a lump sum death benefit to the family of an employee in the event of their death arising from a work-related incident or occupational disease. In accordance with UAE Federal Law, death benefit is payable for 24 months’ salary subject to a minimum and maximum amount.
Permanent total disability:
Provides payment of a lump sum compensation to the employee in case of sustaining a bodily injury that results in permanent total disability, rendering them unable to work again.
Permanent partial disability:
This provides compensation for any impairment that an employee sustains during their employment due to an occupational disease or work-related accident that persists beyond normal recovery, preventing them from working at full capacity. Examples include hearing loss, nerve damage, or PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
Temporary total disability:
This provides compensation to an employee who is temporarily incapacitated from performing any job functions due to an occupational accident or disease. During this period of incapacity, the employee receives financial support to mitigate the loss of income caused by their inability to work, ensuring their financial stability while they recover and prepare to return to full employment.
Medical expenses:
Medical expenses covered under workers’ compensation insurance include essential treatments like hospital visits, surgeries, medications, and rehabilitation therapies. This coverage alleviates financial burdens for both employees and employers by ensuring timely and comprehensive care. It plays a crucial role in facilitating swift recovery and enabling employees to return to work efficiently, maintaining productivity and promoting overall well-being.
Repatriation expenses:
Covers the expenses required for repatriating the remains of an employee, ensuring respectful transportation to their home country or designated location. The policy provides essential support in handling logistical and financial aspects during this sensitive process, prioritizing dignity and support for the employee’s family and loved ones.
